About Us

Adam and Justin met at a conference for artists in Virginia when Justin was still a teenage hipster on his way to Brown University and Adam was a young married guy dabbling in music, community theater, and sculpture. Several years later, Justin contacted Adam for some personal coaching. He had graduated from college and was trying to decide whether he really wanted to pursue a writing lifestyle. After five sessions of coaching, Justin was fired up and ready to go to Oxford and learn to speak British and write more gooder, which he clearly needed help with.

More years went by, and Adam thickened around the middle by eating huge plates of shrimp pad thai, while Justin kept in kung fu shape, until one day they met up in Cha’am, Thailand at another conference and started brainstorming a fictional character together—Stetson Jeff Stetson. Soon they met again in Goshen, Indiana and signed a few legal forms to start a partnership company called Cha’am Cowboys Publishing, so we could publish co-written Stetson Jeff Adventures on Amazon, which is a crazy, funny project with three co-written books published that makes us $4 a month. Don’t be fooled by our high earnings. Stetson Jeff is awesome. He brings people together. Namely, us.

We realized after a while that although groups for aspiring authors often offer critique (and we could do that too) they rarely provide the support needed for everything from time management and practical habits to publishing and marketing your book. The bottom line, we realized, was developing the discipline of putting words on the page.

We want to help you move from an aspirational value for writing to a real, practicing lifestyle as a writer. We did it, and continue to do it, in the middle of very busy family lives with other entrepreneurial projects swirling about. You can, too.
